As with wood firing, the Soda Glazed work reflects Bruce's passion for natural surfaces. Both exploit the spontaneous effects of the fire in different ways.
Although more colourful than natural ash, the contrast of dry to shiny soda surface provides variation and continuous interest all around.
Each piece is made individual by it's differing exposure to the introduction of soda into the kiln chamber during the firing process.
